In a recent interview with the Mexican journalist Bambino Sedano, the Cuban baseball player yasmany tomas confirmed that there was a call from the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), with the purpose of representing the country in the upcoming World Classic of this sport.
“When they asked me at the beginning, I said yes. When I left the country, I always said that I would represent the national team, if they called me.”confirmed Tomás in said conversation.
In addition, the player from Havana assured that he awaits confirmation to attend the international competition, which will be held in March 2023: “I am waiting for the call, because there is a proposal, but it is not confirmed. If they call me, I will go. I already did it in 2013”.

Yasmany Tomás is involved in an excellent campaign in the Mexican Winter League, with Cañeros de Los Mochis, with a batting average of .357, 10 home runs and 57 RBIs.
With this season of the Cuban, his return to the Major Leagues can be realized in the coming months, as the Tampa Bays Rays showed their interest, as well as different teams from the professional leagues of Japan and Korea.
The FCB announced on December 24 the authorization by the United States Department of the Treasury so that Cuban players, residing in that country and participating in any foreign league, can represent Cuba in the aforementioned tournament of nations.
