According to a Fidelio article, 46-year-old musician Mathias Shandai was born in 1977 in Balassagyarmat. He started playing in various jazz bands at the age of sixteen and graduated from the Academy of Music in 2004 as a student of Gergely Yardani. He was a member of the quartet Csaba Chiryak, Tuzko Csaba Sheptett and the group Balazs Elemer. Since 1996 he has played in the Mihaly Dresch Quartet and has worked with the Bacho-Christof Quartet, Victor Toth Tersett, the Daniel Szabo Trio, the Olach Kalman Sextet and the András Des Trio.
In addition to the cream of the Hungarian jazz profession, Sanday also had the opportunity to play with famous foreign artists such as Archie Schepp, David Murray, Herbie Mann, Chico Freeman, Rosario Giuliani, Charlie Mariano, Hamid Drake, William Parker, Rob Brown. , Kurt Rosenwinkel, Gerard Pressenser, Chris Potter, Flavio Boltro or Zbigniew Namyslovsky.
