Leaving our safe and comfortable bed and starting a long day is very frustrating for many of us. Most people use the same method to get out of bed and get up quickly; over a cup of delicious hot coffee. Morning coffee, which has become an indispensable routine for many, causes many health problems if consumed on an empty stomach.
MAY CAUSE OTHER DISEASES
Experts have long argued that coffee consumed on an empty stomach can damage the gut and contribute to other ailments such as bloating, acne, hair loss, anxiety, thyroid problems, or painful menstrual periods. For example, a June 2020 study in the British Journal of Nutrition shows that drinking black coffee in the morning on an empty stomach significantly impairs people’s blood sugar control. The same study found no increase in blood sugar levels in people who ate breakfast before coffee.
In fact, caffeine, which greatly stimulates the release of the stress hormone cortisol, can make the body act like it’s responding to stress when taken on an empty stomach. This negatively affects the intestines, hormones, adrenal glands and energy throughout the day.
HOW TO USE COFFEE IN THE MORNING?
First, before you drink coffee, you should hydrate your body, which has been dehydrated overnight, with a mineral-rich drink. In this way, you can also replenish the electrolytes in your body.
* Electrolytes regulate the water balance in the body and the pH value of the blood, are important for the functions of nerve and muscle cells.
After that, be sure to have a snack to stabilize your blood sugar levels. Foods such as blackberries, bananas, oranges, and dates, along with the fiber they contain, help balance peak blood sugar levels.
Before you get the caffeine you need, make sure you’re getting enough potassium and sodium, especially for the health of your adrenals and your hormones.
