How to activate disappearing messages

The first thing you should know is that these messages will automatically disappear after 7 days of being sent to a chat. But, the multimedia files that have been sent will remain in the devices in case those who received them have downloaded them.

To activate them, you must enter the chat or group and click on the upper part where the name of the person is so that a menu will appear where the Temporary messages section will appear.

Click on this option and it will send you to another menu where two options appear: Enabled or Disabled, in general, they are disabled by default, so you must click Enabled.

“In order to give you more privacy and storage, new messages will disappear for all participants in this chat after the selected duration. Any participant in the chat can change this setting,” it reads.

After activating them and returning to the chat, a message will appear in blue indicating that the temporary messages were activated, which is also visible to the other person. When activated, a clock icon will automatically be added to the contact’s avatar, which indicates that this function is active.

Temporary messages can be triggered by anyone in a conversation, or by group chat administrators. In this way, after a week, the messages that were sent will be deleted automatically without leaving a trace.
