Ukraine is not afraid of cutting Western aid, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Tuesday.

“We don’t feel any drop in support (in the US) in Congress, in the European Parliament,” Kuleba told reporters at a press conference in Paris with his French colleague Catherine Colonnade.
“We see some people in America and also in Europe making statements that Ukraine should be less supported. In the US, this is due to the start of the election cycle,” Kuleba said, adding that Ukraine “will overcome this. We will find a way out.”
In the first debate between Republican candidates in the 2024 US presidential election last week, several candidates criticized President Joe Biden’s support for Ukraine and proposed changing it.
Former President Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, remains unclear but claims he can end Europe’s most intense conflict since World War II in a single day.
To prevent uncertainty that could prompt Russia to postpone and continue the war, Ukraine’s Western allies are trying to develop long-term plans for arms supplies and funding for Ukraine.
The column emphasized the importance of telling Russia that “time is not on your side”.
“France will and will continue to offer Ukraine all its support in all areas to help the country exercise its legitimate right to self-defense,” Colonna said. “It will continue and intensify for as long as necessary to ensure the failure of Russian aggression.”
Kuleba dismissed the idea of peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to freeze the conflict, saying Putin cannot be trusted.
As an example, he cited Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died in a plane crash last week, exactly two months after the start of the June 23 uprising.
“Mr Prigozhin was in conflict with Mr Putin. He negotiated and negotiated security guarantees. And then Putin killed him. There is no reason to think that Putin will act differently in other negotiations,” Kuleba added.
The United States announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine
On Tuesday, the US announced a new $250 million military aid package for Ukraine.
Ukraine will receive AIM-9M air-to-air missiles, HIMARS ammunition, artillery shells, Javelin man-portable anti-tank weapons and their missiles, demining equipment and three million rounds of ammunition.
“Russia started this war and can end it at any moment by withdrawing its troops from Ukraine and ending its brutal attacks,” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
“Until that happens, the United States, our allies and partners will remain united with Ukraine for as long as necessary,” Blinken added.
