Viral | A girl is reunited with her stuffed animal after losing it a year ago on a trip through the mountains | United States | Stories | nnda nnni | OFF SIDE

A 6-year-old girl from Wyoming, United States, thought she had lost forever the stuffed animal that accompanied her everywhere since she was adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia, after forgetting it on an excursion she made last year to the National Park of the Glaciers, in the state of Montana. The unique story of little Naomi has gone viral on the networks.

Their parents and relatives joined efforts and they launched a campaign through Facebook and more social networks to try to recover little Naomi Pascal’s teddy bear. And they succeeded.

Thanks to the keen eyesight of a Montana state reserve ranger, who was touched by the story of the little girl and her bear, and the closure of a hiking trail due to brown bear activity let the teddy have returned into the girl’s arms in Jackson, Wyoming.

“It was a story of hope and goodness, and of people working together. Came to the hearts of the people. It gave them hope. It made them feel that there is goodness in the world and I believe there is “explained the minor’s father, Ben Pascal.

THE TEDDY BEAR LOST IN THE PARK

‘Teddy’, as the teddy is called, has a very special value for little Naomi since it was the first gift that Ben and his wife Addie Pascal sent him before they decided to adopt her in 2016. Since that time, he has accompanied her on family trips to Ethiopia, Rwanda, Croatia and Greece.

In October 2020 the family went on vacation to Montana. But one night, when they were returning from an excursion, they realized that ‘Teddy’ was gone. The great snow that fell that night prevented the family from trying to locate the dollSo he sent a letter to park officials hoping someone would deliver the teddy bear to the lost and found office.

‘Teddy’ was found shortly after by ranger Tom Mazzarisi, somewhat damaged by inclement weather, soaked and sitting on snowmelt near the Hidden Lake trail, but not knowing he was wanted. “Normally, objects that do not have much monetary value are thrown away”, Mazzarisi revealed to the AP agency. But something made her not let go of him.

After a few months kept in his house, the ranger decided to put it on the dashboard of his patrol vehicle, as if it were a pet.

Last June, Naomi’s mother posted on facebook a post to find your daughter’s stuffed animal: “He has been by his side in many events. But there are still many adventures to live ”.

Immediately, the message went viral and received dozens of comments from Internet users who predicted a happy ending, some even offered teddy bears that could replace ‘Teddy’. But ‘Teddy’ is irreplaceable, so a family friend named Terri Hayden decided to return to the national park in September to track areas where to find the doll.

THE REUNION OF NAOMI WITH HER TEDDY BEAR

“I am a woman of faith. And that morning I said, ‘Okay Lord, if this bear is around, please put him in my way and let me go home to him today. “the woman explained. And that’s exactly what happened that day. Hayden and a niece of hers saw a teddy bear on a ranger’s patrol. He sent a photo to Ben Pascal and the news was immediately confirmed: it was the bear ‘Teddy’.

It was Mazzarisi’s free day and his patrol car was closed. But Hayden spoke to other rangers who quickly opened the vehicle and they gave the bear back. Hayden sent the bear to Naomi, who was thrilled to be reunited with ‘Teddy’. At the same time, Terri bought another teddy bear for the park ranger, which will be traveling in his truck next spring.
