Toyota, Škoda, Vollkswagen – the number of new passenger cars sold increased by almost 20% this year

According to the information collected by the Automobile Association, 13,215 new passenger cars were sold in Latvia in the first seven months of this year, which is 19.4% more than in the corresponding period of 2022.

Toyota cars were the most popular – 2,628 such cars were sold, which is 19.9% ​​of all new cars sold and 37.9% more than in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Škoda is next with a market share of 12.5% ​​- 1655 of these vehicles were sold, which is 52.4% more than in the first seven months of 2022. Volkswagen is in third place – 1501 cars of this brand were sold, which is 13.7% more than a year earlier, and their market share is 11.36%.

In fourth place is Dacia, whose market share with 669 cars sold was 5%. Sales of Dacia increased by 4.9% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier. On the other hand, the top five most popular car brands are closed by Renault, whose market share with 603 cars sold amounted to 4.56%, and their sales decreased by 14.8% compared to the same period last year.

The data collected by the Auto Association also shows that Toyota Corolla cars were the most popular, with 576 cars of this model sold. This is followed by Toyota Yaris Cross (488) and Skoda Octavia (380), as well as Dacia Duster (376) and BMW X5 (270).

The Auto Association brings together car manufacturers, manufacturers of components and spare parts for cars, importers, authorized car dealers, authorized service providers for the repair and maintenance of cars.
