Three people prosecuted for murder after a clash that left one of them dead while leaving a nightclub in the Vosges on Sunday have been placed in custody and charged, Épinal prosecutor Frédéric Naon said on Tuesday, August 29.
The investigating judge of the Epinal criminal center proceeded to present an indictment “counts of murder and attempted murder” of the three people who were introduced to him, Mr. Nakhon said in a press release.
A total of nine people were injured early Sunday morning when a car drove into two groups of pedestrians 200 meters apart in the city of Sharm. A 17-year-old boy from the Meuse died at the scene, and another victim, 19, was still on the brink of life and death on Monday.
Two of the three suspects, aged 21, 22 and 25, from the department were known to drug courts, prosecutors said at a news conference on Monday.
“Much of the evidence collected by investigators confirms that the vehicle deliberately drove into groups of people at high speed while they were on the sidewalk.”, said Mr. Nakhon. Analyzes are also “the presence of alcohol was detected, (…) approximately one gram per liter of bloodconfirmed the accusation, which reported “traces of drugs for two” suspects.
