There are three alleged drug traffickers captured this Saturday for the purpose of extradition to the United States – Prensa Libre

The Public Ministry (MP) together with the National Civil Police (PNC) coordinated the capture of Enrique Alejandro Ponce Vaides, who had an extradition order for drug trafficking related crimes in the District Court of East Texas, United States.

As reported by the prosecution, Ponce Vaides was captured in zone 3 of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, and the district court requires it for the crime of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute five kilograms or more of “a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine ”.

The MP counts this year 46 people detained for the purpose of extradition to the United States for drug trafficking.

Similarly, this morning, Owen Esmery de León Villagrán, 37, was consigned to the La Aurora International Airport after being accused of being one of the leaders of the drug trafficking structure called “Arpón Neptuno”.

According to the investigations carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office against Narcoactivity, Arpon Neptuno began its narcotic activities in Colombia, where the drug came from, and then transported it by air, sea and land to Guatemala to finally reach the United States. Its operations also extended to Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Mexico.

On Saturday afternoon, the Public Ministry reported that Raúl Antonio Hércules Sierra was captured in Chisec, Alta Verapaz, also for the purpose of extradition to the United States.

Hercules Sierra is required in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas for the crime of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, ”reported the MP.
