The Relentless Race to Conquer the Moon

SOLUTION | GERMANY

The flight of the Luna-25 spacecraft, sent by Russia to the moon, to the northern part of the moon failed when the device fell to the surface. India, on the other hand, successfully landed on the southern part of the moon in the Chandraaan-3 spacecraft. These two voyages actually herald the beginning of a struggle for prestige, power and efficiency on the Moon again after 50 years of being in the world.

China has already successfully landed on the moon. Israel plans to send a probe to the Moon again after a failed attempt in 2019. The United States plans to increase the goals and create a station with people on the moon by 2030. China has announced that it will implement a similar project by 2025. On the other hand, Japan has announced that it will send the spacecraft it plans to send to the Moon on Monday later due to bad weather conditions.

THE COMPETITION IS ALSO HELD IN THE UAE.

Another contesting country is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the craft that BEA sent to the moon with the Japanese in April crashed on the lunar surface and crashed. However, BEA managed to send a probe to Mars. The spacecraft sent by the UAE to Mars has been sending images since 2021. In addition, this year South Korea will send a spacecraft to the moon.

The prestige and the motivation to give people self-confidence are at the beginning of the main reasons why countries are turning to traveling to the moon again. Last week’s lunar trip winner, Indian President Narendra Modi, called his lunar victory a historic breakthrough and a major national victory. Israel also placed the Torah, Israel’s national anthem, and the Israeli flag on the spacecraft during its failed lunar voyage with the slogan “Small country, big goals.”

UNDERGROUND RICHES OF THE MOON

Although the display of prestige and power is the basis of the renewed lunar competition in the world, another goal is to achieve underground riches, which are estimated to be on the Moon. The United States, along with its partners, wants to prevent other countries from conducting research in these regions by establishing “security boundaries” at a station they plan to install on the Moon called Artemis.

China characterizes this US initiative as the colonization of the moon. While setting the goal of opening a manned station on the Moon together with Russia, China seeks to make the participating countries dependent on it on the Moon, as in the Silk Road project, by connecting other countries to this project.

Europe, on the other hand, produces parts for US spacecraft, but a special flight has not yet been scheduled. Turkey, on the other hand, plans to send both a ship to the moon and a manned spacecraft by 2030.
