Realme’s super powerful phone has been released, the top version has 24GB of RAM and 240W fast charging.
And this top-of-the-line variant isn’t much more expensive than the base model, which is more discreet but still powerful. There are two versions of the phone – with 150W and 240W charging power. The former comes in 12/256GB or 16/512GB memory configurations and costs 3,000 and 3,300 yuan respectively (roughly 380 and 420 euros respectively).
The 240W version only has one memory configuration: 24GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage. The price of this model is 3800 yuan (equivalent to 480 euros). Different charging systems are combined with batteries of different capacities: 5240 mAh for the 150W model and 4600 mAh for the 240W model.
Let’s talk about the 240W charging system. If the battery is low, you can reach 20% charge by plugging it in for just 80 seconds. The 150W version is not bad either – despite the battery capacity requiring more charging, it is able to charge a discharged phone up to 50% in just 7 minutes.
Whichever version of the Realme GT5 is, we will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Heat is handled by a 9-layer cooling system with a 20,827mm² vapor chamber.
As for the display, it is a flat 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1240×2772 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display has 10-bit color reproduction and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It has a peak brightness of 1400 nits and uses high frequency PWM control at 2160Hz.
The display also runs at a refresh rate of 144Hz. However, the Adreno GPU doesn’t have to do all the hard work of rendering graphics as it is paired with an X7 display chip that does frame insertion to increase FPS in the game.
On the back is a 50 MP main camera based on a Sony IMX890 sensor (1/1.56 inches). This 24mm lens has an f/1.9 aperture and OIS. Next to it is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 112° field of view and a resolution of 8 MP. as well as a 2 MP macromodule. There is also an LED backlight framing the Snapdragon logo, which can glow in 26 colors and is adjustable in 5 brightness levels. The selfie camera uses a 16MP sensor (S5K3P9).
Realme GT5 is a 5G dual SIM phone. It also features four Wi-Fi antennas and Wi-Fi 7 support. There is also a Bluetooth antenna (v5.3 capable) with aptX HD, LHDC, LDAC and LC3 audio codecs.
Some other notable features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. The phone is Hi-Res Audio and Dolby certified but lacks a wired 3.5mm headphone jack. On the front panel is a fingerprint scanner with a response time of 0.25 seconds. Positioning is provided by 3-band GPS (L1+L2+L5).
Both versions of the Realme GT5 are already available for pre-order on the Realme China Store starting September 4th (next Monday). There are two colors to choose from: silver with a mirror finish and green with a matte finish. We are still waiting for news of the international launch.
