Romanian police chief Benone Matei said Tuesday in Constanta that the May 2 crash, in which two young people died after being hit by a car by a drugged driver, could have been avoided. .

At a press conference, he was asked if the accident on May 2 could have been avoided if there were no new violations.
“100% of the accident could have been avoided,” said the head of the Romanian police, according to news.ro.
When asked if he intervened so that the young man who caused the accident was left alone for the police, Benone Matei replied: “That’s out of the question.”
The head of the Romanian police added that several unforgivable mistakes were made in the case of the May 2 accident.
“Please allow me to conduct this preliminary study with the utmost balance and speed. Obviously, there were a few fainting spells here. Unfortunately, it was a series of unforgivable mistakes. That’s what we’re trying to do with this project: eliminate human error at all costs by automating the flow of information through many other systems that will allow us to respond in an integrated manner and avoid making capital decisions by one agent or one worker. in difficult situations,” the head of the Romanian police explained.
He added that in cases of murders and extreme violence, the reaction of the Constanta policemen was very good.
“From the point of view of the operational situation, this is a difficult operational situation, but so far we have managed to achieve maximum efficiency. You know perfectly well that both in cases of murders and in cases of extreme violence, the reaction of the system and the reaction of the policemen of Constanta was very good,” Matei also conveyed to Benone.
