According to the Organizing Committee, two riders Erico Verissimo da Rocha and Andre Verissimo Cardoso were killed in a horrific crash on stage 4 of the Cascavel race in Brazil.
At the first turn, 42-year-old driver Andre Verissimo Cardoso lost control and fell in the middle of the road. After that, he stood up and waved to the other riders to avoid him. However, Erico Verissimo da Rocha still stabbed him.
As a result of this collision, Andre Verissimo Cardoso flew far away, and he remained motionless. Meanwhile, Erico Verissimo da Rocha was also unconscious. The organizing committee immediately waved the red flag, signaling the end of the race.
Both riders were taken to the hospital but did not survive. A terrible accident has become a real shock for the whole world of a motorcycle racing village. Tournament organizers said: “Moto1000GP is deeply saddened by the news that two drivers, Erico Verissimo da Rocha and Andre Verissimo Cardoso, were involved in a serious accident during Stage 4 of the Cascavel race.
After the accident, both riders were taken to the hospital in serious condition. They didn’t succeed. Moto1000GP will cancel all tournament events in Brazil. We pray for the victims and offer our condolences to their families.”
