Soria NOW! has taken advantage of the holiday of December 26 to continue with its campaign to collect signatures to support the non-legal proposal (PNL) presented by its attorneys in the Cortes of Castilla y León. In this NLP the Board is urged to reintroduce the first three courses of the medical degree in Soria and the expansion of places in the nursing degree, which is taught at the Faculty of Health Sciences on the Duques de Soria campus.
On this occasion, the collection of signatures has focused on seven towns in the province of Soria: Ágreda, Almazán, Berlanga de Duero, El Burgo de Osma, Ólvega, San Leonardo de Yagüe and San Esteban de Gormaz. In just two hours, Soria NOW! has collected 1,000 supports. Signatures that add to the almost 2,500 collected in Change.org and the 2,000 registered in Soria.
With this campaign, Soria NOW! wants to demonstrate the great social support that this initiative of its attorneys has among Soria society, very sensitive to the loss of medical studies at the beginning of the 90s, and which were implemented fifty years ago.
Before registering your non-law proposal, Soria NOW! He proposed including an amendment to the PNL presented by the Popular Party in which he urged the Junta to implement a degree in medicine in Burgos and León. In this amendment, the Soria attorneys asked to include Soria in this petition so that the first three years of medicine return to the province, something that was rejected by the PP.
The NLP presented in the Courts of Castilla y León by Soria ¡YA!, and that it will defend in commission in the coming months, aims to expand the places offered in medicine and nursing due to the lack of professionals suffered by the health system. In the same way, Soria NOW! considers that, by training medical professionals on the Soria campus of the University of Valladolid, a link with the province is created that facilitates their decision to practice in health centers in Soria.
One solution, among many others needed, to fight against the lack of health professionals in the province of Soria and in Empty Spain.
