DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for central Houston County and northeastern Geneva County, effective until 6:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, June 9.
At 5:20 p.m., radar indicated a strong storm over Taylor, near Dothan, moving east at 25 mph. The storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.
Damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees is expected.
Areas in the storm’s path include Dothan, Taylor, Ashford, Cowarts, Webb, Malvern, Rehobeth, Avon, and several surrounding communities.
Residents are urged to seek shelter indoors and avoid driving if possible until the warning expires.
