Severe Storm Warning in Effect for Wiregrass Counties Through 1 p.m.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 1 p.m. CDT today for parts of Dale, Henry, Geneva, and Houston counties, according to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.

At 12:23 p.m., radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near Taylor, about 7 miles southwest of Dothan, moving east at 25 mph. Forecasters warn of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.

The storm could cause damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees. Impacted areas include Dothan, Headland, Taylor, Kinsey, Ashford, Slocomb, Cowarts, Webb, Malvern, Rehobeth, Grimes, Avon, Memphis, and Hollis.

Residents are urged to stay indoors and monitor local weather.
