The vehicle has been revealed, the options are laid out on the table, the design is ready to be seen – and trust us, you want to see it.
It’s been over 20 years since the original Ford Bronco ceased production back in 1996. And ever since then, we’ve been looking backward for inspiration. But at long last, we can look forward into the beautiful future of the reborn, American icon. Three distinct variations of the 2021 Ford Bronco will exist – and you’ll see them all, right here. The 2021 Ford Bronco SUV has both 2-door or 4-door configurations, with a multitude of off-road packages available (we’ll tell you all about those, soon). New to the family is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, a compact SUV with trail capabilities also. Several nice details and touches remain from the prior generations of Ford Broncos, and the new details…well, let’s just say they’re worth looking at.

This one hit Instagram about 4 months before the official release from Ford. People loved it and have been clamoring for more ever since. Okay well, you’ve pretty much seen the whole thing now. 2021 Ford Bronco
The 2021 Ford Bronco is a mid-size, five-passenger SUV with multiple body, door, and rooftop configurations. There are 7 trim levels in total offered on the new Ford Bronco.

There’s also talk of a Bronco Raptor off-road trim level, however, that has not been confirmed and it may be some time before that happens. Owners of the new Ford Bronco have some other options to consider, such as whether to get a hardtop, removable top, removable doors, 2-doors, or 4-doors.
2021 Ford Bronco 2-door and 4-door
Let’s dive right into the good stuff. Off-Road capabilities…
The Bronco has a Part-Time 4×4 Selectable Engagement system and an Advanced 4×4 with Automatic On-Demand Engagement system. The part-time 4×4 system offers three modes plus neutral, provides mechanically locked-in 4×4 in 4H and 4L. When you select 4L, torque will increase fro certain conditions like deep sand, steep hill grades, and pulling heavy objects. The advanced 4×4 system adds an auto mode that automatically engages to select between 2H and 4H. While 4A is engaged, the 4×4 system will fluctuate power to the front wheels for the best performance across all on-road conditions.
2021 Ford Bronco 2-door
The Bronco comes with Trail Control which is like cruise control for managing off-road throttling/braking, Trail Turn Assist that reduces turn radius, Trail 1-Pedal Drive for low speed crawling, off-road navigation with the FordPass Performance App, and a Terrain Management System with 5 G.O.A.T. modes that G.oes O.ver A.ny T.errain. There are 5 standard drive modes (Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco, and Normal) and 8 available drive modes that vary by trim level. The Badlands trim comes with Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl drive modes, but replaces the Sport mode with Baja mode.
2021 Ford Bronco 4-door
Finally, the Bronco can easily handle the sharpest drops and steepest inclines with a departure angle of 37.2 degrees, a breakover angle of 29 degrees, and an aggressive 43.2 approach angle. The off-road Sasquatch Package, standard on the Wildtrak trim but available on every trim level, includes the 35-inch tires, 17-inch beadlock wheels, front-rear locking differentials, Trail Control, high-clearance suspension, high-clearance fender flares, and a 4.7 final drive ratio. The 2021 Bronco also has an 11.6-inch ground clearance on the 35-inch tires, and is capable of water-fording up to 33.5 inches.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is a four-door, five-passenger compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive. Powering this little beauty is 181-hp three-cylinder engine or a 245-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Off-road packages are available for the Bronco Sport.
2021 Ford Bronco Side-By-Side With 1997 Ford Bronco
The last Ford Bronco to see production was in 1996. That fifth-generation Bronco featured three engine options: a 4.9-liter straight-six, 4.9-liter V8 and 5.8-liter V8. It came with a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. Measurements of the last Bronco were 183.6 x 79.1 x 74.4 in. The new 2021 Ford Bronco will have more powerful engines plus the tease of removable doors, a removable top, and two body styles. With the new Bronco, you have the choice between either a 2.3L engine or 2.7L engine, and a 7-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic.
2021 Ford Bronco Connectivity
In all 2020-2021 Ford SUVs, we see USB ports, parking sensors, and a rearview camera; the Bronco is no different. On the Bronco, there’s actually a bit more. Located on the dashboard, you’ll find an off-road switch pack that makes it easy to control off-roading adventures. These buttons engage the following features: Trail Turn Assist, stability control, hazard lights, stabilizer bar disconnect, and front-rear differential lock. Other technology and amenities include dual smart charging USB ports, sliding visor vanity mirrors, a convenient media bin in the center console, 6 beverage holders, and rubberized floors with integrated drains that allows you to wash away dirt, snow, and pet hair which naturally comes with the territory.

As we mentioned earlier, the 2021 Ford Bronco will come in 7 different trim levels. Which means, 7 different price points. As you can guess, the higher the price point, the more capable the Bronco will be in all conditions. What you see here is the top of the line Wildtrak version that runs almost $60,000! Standard interior features include AM/FM stereo with 6 speakers, SYNC®4 8″ touchscreen display with swipe capability, SiriusXM® with 360L, FordPass Connect, 911 Assist®, single-zone manual climate control, remote keyless access with push-button start, overhead console with front map lights, and a manual tilt + telescoping steering column connected to a Bronco-badged steering wheel with cruise and audio controls. The 2-Door Bronco will seat 4 occupants, while the 4-Door Bronco can sit 5 occupants comfortably and features up to 83 cu.-ft. of cargo space.
Removable tops (in sections), removable doors, sweet roll bars, and big tires. The Bronco was built for an adventure with available 35-inch tires ready to crush any trail ahead. There is even a small tailgate for easy unloading and loading in the cargo area. You can style your new Bronco with up to 10 different exterior colors. The exterior dimensions of the 2021 Bronco measure 173.7-189.5″ L x 79.3″ W x 78.9″ H. The new Bronco is almost the same exact width as the old Bronco, but stands a little taller featuring a variety of lengths.
2021 Ford Bronco Engine
The 2021 Ford Bronco shares a platform with the Ford Ranger. This means it includes the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four that produces 270-horsepower with 310 lb-ft. of torque. There is also the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost six-cylinder that pushes out 310-horsepower with 400 lb-ft. of torque. We hoped a manual option would be available, and it would seem we didn’t get our hopes up for nothing. The 2021 Ford Bronco will have a 7-speed manual transmission as well as a 10-speed automatic transmission.
