“Republicans want to make Biden fail”

The Dominican Congressman from District 13 in New York, Adriano Espaillat came out in defense of the appointment of the Dominican Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon What United States Ambassador to Spain, accusing opposing Republican senators of disregarding his work and ability.

It summarized Reynoso’s qualified preparation at several of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Columbia, and Cambridge, her work as undersecretary of state for the Western Hemisphere, and her brilliant performance as chief of staff in the office of the first lady of the United States. Unidos, Jill Biden, in addition to her career as a partner in one of the best law firms in New York.

He said Republican opposition also has the background of boycotting the international outpost and foreign policy of the Biden administration.

“They want to try to make it fail, something they are not going to achieve,” Espaillat warned.

In response to the accusations of the senators who are part of the Republican bloc in the Senate, the main opponents of the approval of Reynoso, Espaillat said that “they accuse anyone who is a Democrat of being pro-Castro and communist and that is simply a cheap excuse and supporter not only to try to stop her appointment, but also to prevent Biden from establishing his diplomatic corps around the world, “he added, saying that Julissa is highly qualified to be appointed ambassador in Spain and in any other country in the world.

Marco Rubio, who is the vice president of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued a statement on November 16 in which he accuses Reynoso of being an “apologist” for the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, insinuating that she is a communist and could be the delegate of the dictatorships in Latin America, without going to pressure the Spanish Government on the issue in the region.

“Possibly she would let Spain turn a blind eye to these regimes. The United States needs someone who is committed to freedom and human rights on the continent, not a delegate from the dictators.

“She is a supporter and apologist for the Castro regime,” Rubio argues in a statement.

“Reynoso would not pressure Spain to increase pressure against authoritarian regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela,” says the ultra-rightist senator.

“Possibly she would let Spain turn a blind eye to these regimes. The United States needs someone who is committed to freedom and human rights on the continent, not a delegate from the dictators.

He added that Reynoso was involved in the past in helping exchange members of the Cuban regime’s intelligence service imprisoned while serving time in a US prison during the Obama administration’s thaw policy.
