Stade Renne intends to sign young Turkish striker from Hatayspor Bergut Yildrim for 5 million euros. The young player arrived in Rennes early in the day and was greeted by Florian Maurice.
Derailed 2022-2023 season
Bergut Yildrim spent half the season with his club Hatyaspor until a devastating earthquake hit Turkey last February, killing more than 100,000 people. The Hatay region was particularly affected, and the Hatayspor club had to withdraw from the competition. He was not relegated. Bergut Yildrim, in an interview with Turkish media, testifies that the house in which he lived was even completely destroyed. Stade Rennes were looking for a tall striker who could make an impact in the box, especially in the air, an area where the SRFC is having difficulty following the departure of Seru Guirasi and Martin Terrier’s injury.
