K-Startup Expo will be held for the first time in Korea, where startups from the agri-food sector, the future of agriculture, will gather in one place to introduce new promising technologies and attract investment.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Jung Hwang-geun, hereinafter Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs) announced that it will be holding “2023 Agri-Food Technology Startup Expo (AFRO, AGRI & FOOD TECH STARTUP RISING EXPO)” at COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for three days from July 26 to 28.

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in cooperation with the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX and the Korean Food Technology Council, this fair was designed as an exhibition focusing on the ecosystem of start-ups such as investment, sales channels and mutually beneficial cooperation, moving away from the existing method of showcasing, promoting and selling products for start-up companies.

The exhibition is planned to be held for the first time and become the largest in Korea with the participation of about 250 companies, including promising growth companies in the agri-food sector, large corporations, investment companies and government agencies.

The exhibition hall is organized around the theme of the future of agriculture, such as smart agriculture (smart agriculture), advanced food technology (food technology) and green biotechnology (green biotechnology).

In addition, various side events will be held using special stages and conference rooms, such as international conferences to discuss the development direction of the agri-food investment ecosystem and discuss mutual growth with large corporations.

Yoon Won Seop, Director General of Agricultural Innovation Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, “We hope that this exhibition will serve as an opportunity for coexistence and cooperation between promising new companies in the agri-food sector and large corporations and investors.
