The Cubans put 1 × 0 in the bottom of the first inning when forward Roberto Álvarez hit a triple off Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Jesús Macuto and Cuban fourth goalkeeper Pedro Revilla (3-of-3, 2 2B, 3 CI) shoved Álvarez with a cannonball into right field.

Revilla returned to serve as the team’s tug in the fifth inning by bringing Álvarez with his second tubey of the day, this time on the bases by mistake, and Roidel Martínez, in circulation for a single to the left field.
