Over the past three days, 15 vehicle drivers have been detained in Riga and around the capital for being under the influence of alcohol. According to the State Police, 11 drunk drivers have been drawn up protocols on an administrative offense, and four will be held criminally liable. The cost of the car will be recovered from these four caught drivers.
Since Friday, 161 traffic accidents have been registered in the Riga region, 29 people were injured. Four pedestrians, two cyclists and six electric scooter drivers were among those injured.
Over the past three days, 77 protocols on administrative offenses for speeding and three protocols for aggressive driving have been drawn up in the Riga region, and one car theft has also been registered.
