Marc Marquez fell again in the Catalunya MotoGP FP1 session. This increases Marquez’s record as the driver with the most crashes in the 2023 season.
Marc Marquez started the Catalunya MotoGP series with a poor result. For the 17th time this season, The Aliens failed again. This time, Marquez fell during the first practice, more precisely, in the fifth turn.

As he got up from the fall, Marquez made a gesture as if wondering what had happened. As a result of the incident, Márquez had to have his thumb checked as he suffered an injury to ensure it was still in good condition.
“Today we had clutch problems. But this is not an isolated case, because the lack of grip has been quite a concern for us on all the descents throughout the year,” said Marquez.
“In addition, we tried to find the best settings for the bike, but the performance was still not enough. Of course, we didn’t get the results we expected,” said the eight-time world champion.
The incident added to Marc Marquez’s record for the most crashed drivers this season. Under Marquez is Joan Mir, who also defends Repsol Honda. It was noted that Mir fell 14 times.
“We were expecting something like this. But this is not our goal. We Honda riders are in the back four. This is not a good situation for us and for everyone. We need to keep working and trying. we can go. improve the situation,” he said.
Honda performance has been in the spotlight lately, especially among riders who fall frequently. Not to mention that Honda is in a position with a score of 93 points or the same as Yamaha, not supported by the satellite team. In Catalonia, during qualifying, four Honda riders found themselves in the bottom position. Marc Marquez is in 19th place, followed by Takaaki Nakagami in 20th place, Iker Lekuona in 21st place and Joan Mir in last place.
So far, Alex Rins is the best in the pilot standings. LCR Honda rider is in 14th position with 47 points, Nakagami is 17th, Marc Marquez is 19th and Joan Mir is 26th.
