Official ZTE Red Magic 8S Pro gaming phone in Indonesia, prices start at IDR 12 million.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – ZTE Indonesia officially launched the Red Magic 8S Pro gaming smartphone in Indonesia on Tuesday (29/08/2023). Red Magic 8S Pro is the first model from the Red Magic line that a manufacturer from China brought to Indonesia.

“We are introducing this product to support various activities in various scenarios, including games for all users,” said Ni Fei, Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation, President of ZTE Mobile, at the presentation of the Red Magic 8S Pro in Indonesia on Tuesday (08.29. 2023).

As a gaming smartphone, Red Magic 8S Pro has a number of powerful features, including chipset, display, and reliability.

Specifications of Red Magic 8S Pro in Indonesia

One of the excellent features of the Red Magic 8S is the processor. This phone is equipped with a high-end chipset namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This chip has a processor up to 3.36GHz which is claimed to be able to support gaming activities.

The Red Magic 8S Pro pairs the chip with two LPDDRX5 RAM options up to 16GB and storage up to 512GB.

In Indonesia, this smartphone is available in two models: the Midnight model with 12/256 GB of RAM and the Aurora model with 16/512 GB of RAM.

The difference between the two models is only in the constructive aspect. The Midnight model has a more minimalist design, while the Aurora model has a unique design as part of the back is made transparent.

Apart from the differences in the two designs, the two Red Magic 8S Pro models share the same specifications.

The Red Magic 8S Pro features a 6.8-inch Full HD Plus (1116 x 2480 pixels) AMOLED screen with 16 million colors. Interestingly, the look of the face is filled with minimal screen bezels, camera holes, or a fringe on the top side.

ZTE also includes a range of screen support features including a 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz touch screen sampling rate, and brightness levels up to 1300 nits. The physical screen is also covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

At the same time, a part of the back of the phone is decorated with a cross-section of a rigid mechanical design, like a gaming smartphone in general. There is also a camera module that houses three rear cameras.

As for the camera, Red Magic 8S Pro is equipped with three sensors. First, there is a 50MP main camera (f/1.88), an 8MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2) with a 120-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4).

The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. This camera is placed under the panel, so that the screen of the smartphone covers the entire surface of the body.

For durability, Red Magic 8S Pro is equipped with a 6000mA battery and 65W fast charging.

This smartphone is also equipped with the Ice 12.0 cooling system, which is said to be able to keep the temperature of the mobile phone stable. Thus, users will feel comfortable playing games.

Other features available on the Red Magic 8S Pro include stereo speakers, RGB lighting on the back of the mobile phone, and dedicated gaming buttons like on consoles.

This smartphone runs on Android 13 operating system with Redmagic OS 8 interface.

Red Magic 8S Pro in Indonesia comes in two versions: Midnight and Aurora. The prices for the Red Magic 8S Pro are as follows:

• Red Magic 8S Pro Midnight RAM 12/256 GB is priced at IDR 11,999,000.
• Red Magic 8S Pro Aurora RAM 16/512GB is priced at IDR 14,999,000.
