New Volkswagen Passat 2023: Expected premiere on Thursday 31 August 2023

The new Volkswagen Passat will soon be presented, which will be produced in Slovakia along with the new Škoda Superb. We remind you of all the important information that we know at the moment.

The official presentation of the new Volkswagen Passat is just around the corner. The novelty from Wolfsburg, which will be produced together with the expected new Škoda Superb in Slovakia, will be solemnly presented in just a few hours. And this is a great opportunity to remember all the important information and news that we can expect from the latest generation of the popular management model.

The new Volkswagen Passat will be launched on the improved MQB evo modular platform and will be produced exclusively with a more practical station wagon body, commercially called Variant. Volkswagen said goodbye to the standard sedan at the beginning of last year 2022, when it began preparing the site for the launch of the ID.7 aerodynamic electric car.

The German brand has previously published information that the new ninth Passat will be larger, more spacious and more comfortable than its predecessors. It will be 140 millimeters longer, and the automaker promises to offer 50 millimeters more legroom in the rear seats. The luggage compartment will increase by 40 liters to 690 liters, and with the seats folded down, it will become another 140 liters more voluminous. In total, it will offer up to 1920 hp.

At the same time, Volkswagen seduces with a new interior architecture with a newly developed cabin and a new infotainment system. The new standard infotainment display will measure 12.9 inches, with a larger 15-inch screen available as an option or depending on equipment. If you wish, you can choose a new head-up display, and the automaker is finally returning to the classic control buttons on the steering wheel. Controversial touchpads will be a thing of the past.

When traveling at night, the latest Passat in the highest trim level will illuminate the road with innovative next-generation headlights with IQ.Light LED Matrix technology. Powerful high-beam headlights can cut through the darkness for a distance of approximately 500 meters.

Thanks to a more modern platform, the Passat will feature a more advanced adaptive DCC Pro chassis with two independent valves in each shock absorber – one adjusts compression stiffness, the other rebound. The automaker promises more comfort from an improved chassis. Vehicle Dynamic Manager technology with XDS electronic differential lock for better handling, stability and more neutral driving characteristics will also be standard on all Passats.

The Volkswagen Passat will be sold with four engine types – TSI petrol units, TDI diesel units, eTSI mild hybrid petrol engines and the eHybrid plug-in hybrid system. It promises an electric range of up to 100 kilometers and will be available with standard direct current (DC) charging for the first time in a Volkswagen.

Officially, the new Volkswagen Passat will be presented on August 31, 2023. Immediately after the premiere of the novelty, we will inform you of all important information. The brand plans to enter the European market in the first quarter of next year.
