Mother Killed, 3 Young Children Injured in Memorial Day Crash on I-95 in Brevard County

On Memorial Day, a 32-year-old woman was murdered in a crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, which also involved her three young children.

The event occurred in the southbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 188, just north of the Pineda Causeway in Melbourne.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident included a Ford F-350 and a Honda Odyssey. The F-350’s tire blew out, which officials say caused the accident.

Olivia Maggs, 32, is the mother driving the Odyssey. Her three children were brought to the hospital with injuries.

One was eight months old and had a shattered femur and a brain bleed.

Two youngsters, aged three and four, were also injured but are expected to recover.

Her family set up a GoFundMe page, claiming that strangers stopped to help get the children out of the car.

Maggs was identified as a “loving and gentle mother, devoted wife, and cherished daughter, sister, friend, and compassionate nurse.”

The driver of the Ford was not taken to the hospital and remained at the scene.

“The family now faces a long road of healing; both physically and emotionally,” the GoFundMe page stated.
