All-electric models join the well-known Cooper and Countryman combustion engine versions.
British carmaker Mini has unveiled the Cooper electric hatchback and the Countryman electric crossover. Cooper is built on a completely new platform designed exclusively for electric vehicles, without the possibility of installing even internal combustion engines. The car retained the traditional Mini look of round headlights and British flag-shaped taillights, but was stripped of decorative elements such as wheel arches and door sills or chrome trim that were made to improve the electric hatchback’s aerodynamics.
The electric Cooper will be available in two variants: Cooper E and Cooper SE. In the first case, it is equipped with a 184 hp engine. on the front axle, providing acceleration to hundreds in 7.3 seconds, and a battery with a capacity of 40.7 kWh allows you to travel up to 305 km on a single charge. In the second variant, Cooper gets a 218 hp electric motor. and a battery with a capacity of 54.2 kWh, which provides a speed of up to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds and a range of up to 402 km. 30 minutes is enough to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent on a fast charger.
The electric Cooper is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2024. Cooper E will cost at least 32,900 euros, Cooper SE – at least 36,900 euros.
The Mini Countryman electric crossover comes standard with a 204-horsepower electric motor on the front axle, while the more powerful version has two electric motors, one on each axle. Power reserve – from 433 to 462 km, depending on the version.
