An accident that occurred early on Thursday morning in Clay County resulted in the death of a man from Keystone Heights and the serious injury of four other individuals.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol reported that at approximately midnight, a male in his thirties was operating a vehicle in the direction of northbound traffic on Sunrise Boulevard, as he approached the intersection with State Road 100 in Keystone Heights.
The same intersection was being approached by a man who was 58 years old and driving an SUV in the westbound direction on State Road 100. After failing to stop at a stop sign, the driver of the sedan collided with the driver of the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the site, according to the Florida Highway Patrol troopers, while the driver of the car and three passengers sustained critical injuries.
