According to the indictment, on March 16, 2021, in the afternoon, in a state of intoxication, a man tore off a road sign at a roundabout in District X. The man went out onto the road and, with a sign in hand, first ran towards the car that swerved in front of him, and then headed towards the bus, the driver of which was forced to brake.

The defendant then returned to the pavement, where he lifted the weight with a traffic sign, which he eventually placed on the pavement.

By his actions, the man endangered the physical integrity of road users.

A few months later, on December 29, 2021, while intoxicated II. threw a stone at the windshield of a tram circling the area. In this regard, the tram driver intensively braked the train, despite this, the stone hit the windshield of the vehicle and broke it.

The vandalism caused more than HUF 100,000 worth of damage to the building, and although there were no injuries, there was a real risk of injury.

In addition, the tram service on this line was suspended for about 2 hours, 10 spare buses had to be put into operation, and all this affected the travel of about 2,000 passengers.

Budapest VI. and VII. The district prosecutor’s office is charging the 48-year-old man with a crime against traffic safety, disruption of a public enterprise and vandalism and is proposing that he be sentenced to prison. The defendant is currently serving a legally binding prison sentence imposed in another case.
