The preliminary investigation found no evidence that the allegations were true and no charges would be brought, prosecutors said.

The investigation was launched in June when several women claimed on social media that they were molested at parties after Rammstein concerts and then offered to have sexual relations with Lindemann.

The musician denied these allegations, but his lawyers insisted that they were “without exception, false.”

The Berlin-based law firm Schertz Bergmann expressed satisfaction with the closing of the case.

This “proves that there are no grounds for very serious allegations against our client made on social media and in the press,” the department said.

In connection with the spread of false information about the musician, legal measures will be taken, representatives of the department said.

The scandal erupted after a young Irish woman posted a statement on social media that she was molested after a concert in Vilnius (Lithuania) and that she was molested by Lindeman.

Several of these stories subsequently surfaced on social media.

In response to the allegations, several Rammstein parties were canceled and Universal Music stopped advertising the band.
