JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) – A wanted sex offender who fled from deputies Tuesday morning was quickly tracked down and arrested in Jackson County, Fla., with help from multiple agencies.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived around 11:30 a.m. on June 10 at a residence south of Graceville along Highway 77 in an attempt to locate Randall Brett Morris. Morris, a registered sex offender, had an active felony warrant out of Holmes County.
Authorities say Morris ran from the home on foot, prompting deputies to set up a perimeter and call in the JCSO K9 Tracking Unit and Aviation Unit. A track was established, and Morris was found shortly afterward and taken into custody.
Sheriff Donnie Edenfield thanked the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for providing drone support and the Graceville Police Department for assisting in the search.
