Four-vehicle Crash on U.S. 50 Near Skyline Drive Injures Four, Causes Traffic Halt

A four-vehicle incident on U.S. 50 on Saturday left four persons with minor to moderate injuries.

Trooper Sherri Mendez, the Colorado State Patrol’s Public Information Officer, reported that the incident occurred around 1:26 p.m. at mile marker 273, roughly a mile west of the Skyline Drive entrance.

Traffic in both ways was halted while emergency personnel responded and cleared the street.

The vehicles involved were a GMC Sierra, a Kia Sorento, a Ford Expedition, and a Chevrolet utility vehicle.

Two of the drivers were sent to the hospital.

Mendez stated that as of Thursday afternoon, the cause of the crash had not been specified on the incident report.
