With the opening of the island to tourism and the relaxation of sanitary restrictions from this November 15, the German airline based in Frankfurt, Condor, announced its return to the “Juan Gualberto Gómez” International Airport in Varadero, the well-known Cuban resort.
As reported this week by the Cuban News Agency, Liset Borrel, Cubatur’s commercial director, assured that the German company, known as Condor, would return to said air terminal in December of this year. Before that, the tour operator Tui-UK would return from Manchester, England.
Since the beginning of October, with the official announcement of the reopening of the Cuban government, the German tourism group FTI announced more offers to Caribbean destinations and included the island. “Looking forward to the next opening of Cuba,” they wrote then.
The catalog of the German group once again offered the Varadero destination for its German clients and although in October it did not specify which airlines would fly to Cuba (it was debated between Condor or Eurowings), evidently the former came out with “more ballots to win”, since it is the that usually linked with the island, before the health crisis.
Until this moment, this company had flights from Frankfurt (Germany) to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) from Condor and Eurowings, from Düsseldorf (Germany) and Munich to the popular Quisquean resort.
FLIGHTS TO CUBA FROM GERMANY
In October 2020, the German airline Condor announced that it would resume long-distance flights to Varadero from the cities of Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. The same that must be incorporated in this December, gradually.
According to the official press, travelers arriving in Varadero chose hotels such as Iberostar Varadero, El Patriarca and Meliá Internacional. Some also have bought stays in Jibacoa, north of the western province of Mayabeque.
On the website of the Condor company, flights to Varadero are already offered since December. It appears that one-way tickets from Europe start at 469 euros. In January, prices decrease a little more.
The information on the official website also indicates that Condor would return to the “José Martí” International Airport in Havana for the month of March 2022. With prices starting at 459 euros.
