Apple traditionally introduces new products in early September. Although there have been exceptions in history, for example, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the beginning of September is already a traditional holiday for brand fans. Compared to last year, when the event took place on September 7, this time the Apple Event will take place a week later. In recent months, rumors have circulated about the date of September 13, that is, Wednesday. In the end it will be a day earlier, on Tuesday, September 12th.
The pre-sale of new products should start on Friday, September 15, and the devices will appear in stores a week later, on Friday, September 22. This may not apply to all news, sometimes the start of sales of a particular model of phone or watch may be delayed.
The event will traditionally take place at the Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, a city located south of San Francisco and directly adjacent to San Jose. The main stars of the event will be the new iPhone 15 series. And again, four models are expected: the base with the Plus version and the higher-end Pro and Pro Max models. The main change will be the integration of a USB-C connector instead of the traditional Lightning, which is a necessary concession to the requirements of the European Union. Even then, Apple is expected to retain control over this universal connector, as it will not be possible to use any USB-C cable. So it will be possible to use it, but only for slow or very slow charging. Only certified cables should provide full functionality, but they will be quite expensive.
The Pro and Pro Max models will get the new Bionic A17 chip, while a couple of cheaper models will get last year’s A16 processor. The design will also be slightly changed: the corners will be more rounded, and the bezels around the display will be thinner. A tweaked camera setup is also expected for older models, a periscope telephoto lens should be new for the Pro Max model. Apparently, the portfolio of color options will also change.
At the event, Apple should introduce the ninth generation of Watch and, possibly, the second generation of Watch Ultra. There are also rumors about the premiere of new tablets and possibly other devices. But Apple usually allocates a separate event for them. However, they will definitely show new accessories for iPhones and watches.
