Actress Esra Dermancioglu posted a 7-minute video after watching the film on digital cinema platform MUBI and stated that it only featured stories of young people between the ages of 20 and 27 in Turkey. Dermancioglu also stated that people aged 40 and over are being ignored in the television series and film industry.
Dermancioglu said: “In the vast Turkey, in the television series and film industry, where the money spent is turned upside down and there is a loss of consciousness, the story is told only in the age range. My brain is slipping away, I’m drowning like I’m going crazy.
Addressing the producers, the actress said, “Do you know that there are more than 40 men and women in this country? Maybe the writers want to write, but the producer doesn’t accept it. Maybe not, obviously not. We don’t look.” There are no more TV shows and movies, we are watching a fashion show. They dress girls. What a story, what a word,” he said.
Dermancioglu also criticized the Netflix series Love Tactics starring Demet Özdemir and Şükrü Öziyldız and used the following statements:
“There are things called Love Tactics. What tactics of love, what tactics? The old ones are no more. They did it 200 years ago in America. America made this film during World War II. There is no such thing, no one’s tactics. Producers. think that when they put a story over 50 years old, they will not watch it in Turkey, but they will watch it like their fathers.
Since we are in love in our 40s and 50s, we are still actively talking. Our brain works, there is no Alzheimer’s after 40… We watch fashion shows at the age of 20 to 27, without stopping. The man asks a question. There is such a thing as middle age … Their life is the same as after 27, everyone in the land of zombies, everyone under the grave … Nobody lives by anything. He eats only 20-27 times, lives in love. I’m going crazy, this does not happen … “
