Elon Musk says Starlink’s default Wi-Fi name will be “stinky”

If there’s one thing you can always rely on Elon Musk it is to laugh. The head of Tesla, SpaceX and possibly Twitter has a decent sense of humor and said online yesterday that he was changing the default WiFi router name to Star link.

“We are changing the default Wi-Fi name from Starlink to Stinky,” Musk tweeted.

The implication is, of course, that when you first set up Starlink wifi, your name can be seen by the entire neighborhood.

Elon Musk says Starlink's default Wi-Fi name will be 'stinky'

The CEO of Starlink has once again given something to talk about.

It’s actually a pretty smart way to use an “everyone’s in the right bandwagon” marketing strategy.

It’s unclear if Musk thinks being stinky is a compliment. Does he know that almost everyone on TikTok calls their pets stinky gremlins? Or does he think Stinky is an insult and he just wants to make fun of Starlink haters?

Networks react to Elon Musk’s comments

The people in the comments Elon Musk she wasn’t very appreciative of the joke. Some criticized him for firing SpaceX employees who criticized the billionaire and the so-called free speech advocate.

“You’re a kid,” an angry Twitter netizen responded to Musk’s tweet.

Even if the tweet was a bit childish considering the many workplace abuse laws it potentially violated, it was still hilarious.

Will Musk really change Starlink’s default name to Stinky? Who knows. But the controversial CEO has been making international headlines for years because of his tweets and bizarre interview quotes.

If everything you said was scrutinized from top to bottom by millions of people every day, wouldn’t you want to troll people sometimes? We wouldn’t take it too seriously.
