The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a tragic incident in Richland County that involved two automobiles.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department said that around 1 p.m., they went to a crash with several injuries on the 9200 block of Monticello Road.
According to SCHP, the collision occurred when a 2001 Chevy pickup going north on Monticello Road collided with a 2022 Kia Stinger carrying three individuals.
The truck’s driver was the only one injured and was taken to Prisma Health Richland for treatment. While the passengers of the Stinger were taken to Prisma Health Richland for treatment, the driver died on the scene.
SCHP says it will continue to investigate the crash.
