New novel for Dimayor. Deportes Tolima alleged through its social networks that it played the final leg of the 2022 League against Atlético Nacional under protest for the alignment of the player Giovanni Moreno.
According to the Vinotinto team, Moreno’s presence disrespects the rules of Colombian Professional Soccer: “We respect the decisions of the sports courts and we are sure of the forcefulness of our arguments, so we not only denounce but ask for the sanctions and points that it contemplates the regulation in our favor”.
📍 Deportes Tolima informs public opinion, that it is playing under protest over the irregular alienation of Atlético Nacional player, Giovanni Moreno. His inclusion is contrary to all championship regulations.

Giovanni Moreno was sanctioned on date 5 of the semifinal home runs for having performed burlesque acts against the Millonarios fans, in the match that was played at the El Campín stadium.
The initial suspension was for two days according to article 3 of resolution No. 033 of 2022, which forced him to pay on the sixth day against Junior and the first leg of the grand final or the first date of the following championship.
However, Atlético Nacional filed an appeal to suspend the measure after the classification of purslane to the final, which was accepted by the Dimayor Disciplinary Committee and last Tuesday such suspension was revoked.
Now, Deportes Tolima apparently appealed the resolution that suspended Giovanni Moreno’s sanction and alleges that for this reason he was not allowed to play in the first leg.
Moreno was registered for the match and entered the 90th minute of the first game of the final, a situation that will be demanded by Tolima as it became known on Thursday morning, considering it irregular and will demand victory for the desk that according to the regulations would be by 3- 0.
Another chapter opens in Dimayor, which must now clarify the issue and determine whether Deportes Tolima is right or wrong in its argument against Atlético Nacional.
At the moment, an official statement by the governing body of Colombian soccer is unknown.
