The Director General of Migration, Enrique García, affirmed that the deportations of undocumented Haitian women in labor will continue, while respecting their human rights and all the guarantees of due process.
The official expressed that he is exercising the right that assists him as a sovereign country. He acknowledged that it is a matter that is not very pleasant, but that they have the responsibility as entrusted by President Luis Abinader to protect Dominican citizens.
García called on foreigners living in Dominican territory irregularly to return to their country, or otherwise they expose themselves to deportation.
He noted that any foreigner who has an illegal status in the country is at risk of being repatriated.
He expressed that Migration is determined to reinforce its border controls and that for this they are acquiring new equipment.
Border tour
García expressed himself in these terms when he made a tour of Dajabón and La Vigía yesterday, accompanied by the Army Inspector General, General Angel Camacho Hubiera, Mao’s military commander, Colonel Germán Rosario, and other civil and military authorities.
