The Cuban receiver who went through the branches of the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and the Miami Marlins, Lorenzo Quintanaconfirmed his presence in the preselection of the Cuba team that will participate in the V World Baseball Classic, according to what “close sources” told reporter Francys Romero.
After four years playing in the Minor League Baseball in the United States, the mask from Pinar del Río did not receive a call to play in the Big Top, although the three came very close to achieving it, with participation every year -except in his debut- in the Triple A level, showing, above all, a solid offensive production.
The season in which he achieved the best numbers was in 2019, when in 76 games and 278 legal shifts he achieved 83 hits, including 16 doubles, a triple and 17 home runs, to compile an excellent offensive average of .299. Meanwhile, he registered a total of 56 towed teammates to the register (the highest number for a season of his) and went through the pentagon in the same number of opportunities.
