The North Haven Fire Department recognized a 6-year-old kid on Tuesday for saving his mother’s life. Jayden Stokes’ mother passed out on May 4 following an accident that resulted in a major gash to her hand, according to fire officials. The Montowese Elementary School pupil ran for help.

“What made this incident remarkable was that the patient’s 6-year-old son, Jayden Stokes, was the only person at home,” officials stated on Facebook. ”

Not only did this young boy run next door to alert the neighbor and seek help for mom, but he also was able to describe in great detail the events that led up to emergency services arriving on scene.”

An ER doctor credited Jayden with saving his mother’s life, according to firemen, who discussed proposing the kid for the award with the fire chief.

Jayden collected the Citizen’s Award at a Board of Fire Commissioners meeting and posed for a photo alongside firefighters and paramedics.

The event was attended by his teacher, principal, and the school district superintendent, as well as other friends and family members, according to fire officials.
