Asus denies rumors of HP Zenfone series being discontinued

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Technology company Asus has finally spoken out about the rumors that the Zenfone series of smartphones will be discontinued.

In a press release, Asus said that the rumors that the Zenfone line is being discontinued and that the Zenfone 10 will be the last are not true.

“This is not true. We will continue our two major mobile phone product lines, ROG Phone and Zenfone,” the Taiwanese company wrote on Tuesday (August 29, 2023), referring to its official website.

“Asus is strongly committed to our smartphone business and our customers,” Asus said. “Please look forward to our product line in 2024.”

Previously, there were rumors that Asus Zenfone 10 will be the last model released in the Zenfone series.

Taiwanese Technews reported that Asus will discontinue the Zenfone line following an “organizational restructuring” that has led to a reduction in the number of employees in the PC departments in Taiwan and China.

The report says that in an internal letter, Asus announced plans to transfer many employees to the company’s mobile phone division, which consists of Zenfone and ROG Phone, but there were cuts instead.

This is reportedly happening because Asus plans to shut down the HP Zenfone division and move those employees to other departments or to ROG Phone.

“People who know this say that Asus phones are divided into ROG and Zenfone series, but now the latest Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series,” the report says. Technews.

“The Zenfone team will be merged with other departments or directly with the ROG team in the future,” added the news, quoted by 9to5googleMonday (28.08.2023).

However, in its latest statement, Asus also denied the news and said it would continue to release ROG Phone and Zenfone.
