President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales still under pressure after kissing a soccer player. Now the RFEF regional presidents are asking Rubiales to step down.
The incident where Rubiales kissed Jenny Hermoso, a Spanish women’s team player, at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Rubiales did it while winning the winner’s medal.
The RFEF president’s kiss, which Jenny later claimed was without her consent, continued. Rubiales’ actions were found to be illegal. He also continues to be in the spotlight.
Reportedly one of the newest ESPN– regional presidents insist on it RFEF So Rubiales leave your position. On Monday (June 28), a committee made up of RFEF Regional Leaders held a discussion in a 5 hour meeting.
“After a series of inappropriate incidents and actions that damaged the image of Spanish football, the presidents (of the regional RFEFs) are demanding that Luis Rubiales resign as president of the RFEF as soon as possible,” the committee said in a statement.
In addition, the committee also did not forget to evaluate the progress of the Spanish women’s team in winning the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Still Luis Rubiales confirmed that he would not step down as president RFEFamid the scale of scrutiny and condemnation.
FIFA, as the umbrella organization of world football, meanwhile imposed a 90-day sanction in the form of a temporary suspension of Rubiales from the position of president of the RFEF.
