54-year-old Woman Dies in Fiery I-4 Crash; Four Family Members Critically Injured

A 54-year-old Georgia woman was murdered, and four others were seriously injured when a vehicle veered off Interstate 4 near Daytona Beach, collided with a tree, and overturned, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to Trooper Migdalisis Garcia, the wreck occurred at 10:49 a.m. Monday westbound on I-4 near mile marker 125.

Garcia stated that preliminary information indicated that a Ford Expedition was traveling west on I-4 when it ran off into the median. The SUV hit a tree and overturned many times.

The 54-year-old woman from Hoboken, Georgia, who was a passenger in the back seat, died at the site of the crash, authorities said.

The driver of the SUV, a 61-year-old male from Hoboken, Georgia, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Centre in Daytona Beach with critical injuries, according to authorities.

Three more passengers, all from Hoboken, including two men (53 and 58) and a lady (5). They were also rushed to Halifax Health with critical injuries, Garcia stated.

Garcia said the crash is still under investigation.
