A two-vehicle crash in Fresno County, west of Fresno, killed two individuals and injured two more Thursday night.

Sgt. Joseph Bianchi of the California Highway Patrol reported the deadly crash occurred at 9:06 p.m. at McKinley and Westlawn avenues.

According to Bianchi, a Honda Civic was traveling north on Westlawn and a Chevrolet pickup was heading west on McKinley when the Civic’s driver ran a stop sign and was broadsided by the truck.

The right front passenger of the Civic was pronounced deceased. She was twenty years old, according to the CHP. The coroner identified her as Skye Banda of Selma.

The driver of the Civic was transferred to a local hospital with serious injuries. According to a CHP update released Friday morning, the 22-year-old driver later died at the hospital. The coroner identified the driver as Isac Gomez of Fresno.

A 70-year-old male and a 68-year-old woman in the truck sustained mild to moderate injuries, according to Bianchi.

The CHP is investigating the crash, and it is uncertain whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
