A 14-year-old kid from Lookeba died in an ATV accident Tuesday evening near the intersection of County Road 1280 and County Road 2520, about three miles north and three miles west of Fort Cobb.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. The juvenile boy was driving a 2017 Polaris ATV northbound when it went off the road to the right, rolled a quarter turn, and came to a stop on its side.
The adolescent driver was partially ejected and became trapped beneath the ATV. Carnegie EMS brought him to Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Medical, where he was pronounced dead by medical officials.
According to officials, the ATV lacked seat belts. The weather at the time was dry and clear. The driver’s condition before the disaster, as well as the reason for the collision, are still being investigated.
